Sewing Patterns That Have Passed The Test Of Time
Simplicity sewing patterns have been around since 1927 when the Company was founded in New York City. It began with the executive management team, sales and marketing staff, and product design group leasing a 42,000 square foot space which today, has expanded to a mid-sized, worldwide company. They design, produce, market and distribute sewing patterns and are one of the largest distributors of their kind in the world.
The Growth Of Simplicity Sewing Patterns
Simplicity became a successful business nearly instantly, and not long after the Company was founded, in 1931 the production of and distribution operations were relocated to a new location in Niles, Michigan. The new premises, being 740,000 square feet in size, was company owned and became the principal operating location for the Company, which it remains to be still today. It is here that the administering, producing and distributing of Simplicity sewing patterns occurs, however the Company also leases warehouse and office space for subsidiaries in Canada, England and Australia that distribute the Company's products in surrounding markets. There are also third party distributors in Mexico and South Africa which service retail customers in these areas. Since the company was founded, Simplicity has grown to having around 310 employees on a worldwide basis.
Simplicity Markets
Simplicity sewing patterns are marketed and sold under a number of brand names across the globe. These include: Simplicity, It's So Easy and New Look, as well as having a special agreement with the company Burda. Simplicity sewing patterns are distributed directly to fabric retailers and related stores which are around 8,000 locations worldwide. Their patterns have become, and stayed so popular due to Simplicity's ability to manufacture a product based on easy to follow instructions that keep up to date with the trends as time goes by. Simplicity sewing patterns cover a wide range of designs for items ranging from fashion apparel, children's wear and costumes through to crafts and home decorating items.
Simplicity: Ever Expanding
Simplicity, due to their ever-increasing ability to meet demand and maintain such a high level of quality for their products, have begun establishing contracts with several companies to manufacture other products apart from sewing patterns. These include items such as sewing machines, polyester fiberfill, doll house kits, toy sewing machines, and other sewing supplies. These items would be sold under the Simplicity name, which no doubt due to the name's excellent reputation, will help allow the items to sell themselves and become just as popular as the Simplicity sewing patterns over time.
